Service Learning and Leadership Opportunities
The B’nai Tzedek program includes opportunities for service learning and the chance to participate on the Jewish Community Foundation’s Youth Philanthropy Board — which is open to high school students who have established a B’nai Tzedek Fund. The Youth Philanthropy Board isn’t just community service — it’s philanthropy, advocacy, leadership, and service learning all rolled into one. Teens 
are entrusted with thousands of dollars provided annually by the Jewish Community Foundation, giving them the opportunity to engage in collective grantmaking.
They also volunteer as ambassadors for the program, teaching others about youth philanthropy and tzedakah. Throughout the year, teens explore and identify their values, along with the local, national, and international nonprofit organizations that address those values — all while learning how to be wise, strategic philanthropists.
Youth Philanthropy Board Meetings
The Youth Philanthropy Board meets on Sundays. Meetings are usually held at the Ina Levine Jewish Community Campus, usually from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. We are working with NFTY, BBYO and local religious schools so that our meetings and events do not conflict with other events. All meetings will take place over Zoom until December. We will re-evaluate the Spring semester meeting plan in December.
