Automobile registration
To register your car, take the following to the appropriate office:
- an emissions inspection slip
- previous registration card and license plates
- an inspection slip from Motor Vehicle Division
- previous title or a notarized bill of sale with verification that no lien exists against the vehicle
- proof of insurance

Driver’s license
Arizona law requires new residents to obtain an Arizona driver’s license; there is no grace period. To obtain a license or permit, you need:
- a previous license or permit and one other form of identification; if between ages 16 and 18, two identification documents, such as birth certificate and Social Security card
- to pass all required examinations
- to pay the required fee
- to provide a registered road test
- a vehicle that meets insurance requirements
